About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with QERA, you will provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in their homes and communities.
Depending on the needs of the participant, your shifts may include:
- Assistance with personal care and daily living
- Community access and social participation
- Supporting independence and development of everyday living skills
- Meal preparation and household activities
- Transport and support to appointments, activities and community events
- Medication assistance within your training and scope
- Following participant support plans, risk assessments and health-related plans
- Supporting participants with mobility and manual handling where required
- Providing high-intensity personal care where appropriately trained and assessed
- Completing accurate shift notes and required documentation
- Reporting incidents, hazards, concerns and changes in participant wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with participants, families, QERA and other members of the participant's support team
What We're Looking For
We're looking for professional people who are reliable, respectful and genuinely comfortable working alongside people with disability.
You will ideally have:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Reliable, insured vehicle
- Working with Children Check/Blue Card where required
- The ability to use a mobile phone or computer for shift documentation and communication
- Availability for a range of shifts, which may include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or a related qualification, or relevant disability support experience
Experience with complex or high-intensity supports is highly regarded, but we also value the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
