About the role
The Pharmacist - Sexual Health and HIV Service provides an efficient, innovative and patient-centred clinical pharmacy service to patients accessing the Sexual Health and HIV Service (SHHS). Based at Biala City Community Health Centre, the role supports the delivery of high-quality medicines management services that align with organisational goals, professional standards and legislative requirements while contributing to positive patient outcomes and service excellence.
The successful candidate will deliver clinical pharmacy services, support safe and effective medicines use, and contribute to operational pharmacy functions including dispensing, distribution and procurement activities. The role also supports education, quality improvement initiatives and the development of pharmacy practice through collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide high-quality clinical pharmacy services, including medicines dispensing, medication reconciliation, clinical review, therapeutic drug monitoring and medicines information.
Apply evidence-based practice and professional judgement to resolve clinical pharmacy issues and support safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, patients and carers to optimise medicines management and health outcomes.
Provide supervision, education and support to pharmacy students, interns, clinical assistants and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in medication safety, quality improvement and service development initiatives that enhance pharmacy practice and patient care.
