In this role, you'll:
Working as part of the Operations Communicatons team within Operations Management branch you will oversee the operational delivery of real-time communications services within the Transport Management Centre (TMC), ensuring accurate, timely and coordinated information is provided across all modes to the travelling public, media, and key stakeholders.
In this newly created leadership role you will support operational readiness and service continuity in a 24/7 environment through the effective coordination of communication responses during incidents, events, and planned transport operations. You will be responsible for managing the escalation of operational issues and the prevention of safety and fatigue hazards.
You will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of communication strategies and operational plans and provide direction as a trusted subject matter expert in real-time operational communication.
This is a permanent role, predominantly based on-site at Everleigh.

About you
You are a strong people leader with demonstrated experience in managing operational communications or operations within a transport, logistics, or large-scale customer service environment.
Your operational awareness will ensure you have proven ability to lead operational teams in high-pressure, time-critical settings and strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex operational information into clear, timely public messaging.
You also have strong written/verbal communication skills with extensive experience in communications or media to understand the communications plan and strategy that is required around a complex operational situation.
Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Journalism or a similar discipline or equivalent experience is essential.
