About the Role
Narrabri Shire Council is seeking a motivated and organised People and Values Support Officer to join our team. People and Values is Council's Human Resources function, responsible for supporting our people through recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of Human Resources activities while supporting the delivery of services that make a real difference to our employees and community.
As the People and Values Support Officer, you will provide administrative and coordination support across recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, workforce projects and day-to-day People and Values operations. Working alongside an experienced team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of people-related matters while developing practical skills and knowledge within the profession.

Key Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support across all People and Values functions.
- Coordinating recruitment activities, including advertising, interview scheduling and candidate communication.
- Assisting with employee onboarding and induction processes.
- Preparing correspondence, employment documentation and records.
- Maintaining employee records and ensuring documentation is managed in accordance with Council requirements.
- Supporting learning and development initiatives and training coordination.
- Responding to enquiries and providing a high level of customer service.

About You
As our People and Values Support Officer, you are an organised and customer-focused professional who enjoys working with people and delivering high-quality administrative support. You have a willingness to learn, a strong attention to detail and an interest in supporting positive workplace outcomes.
You may already have experience in administration and be looking to build a career in Human Resources, or you may be currently studying and seeking practical experience in the field.
You will bring:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience in Human Resources, local government or a related field will be highly regarded but is not essential.
