The Job
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Estimator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced career professional looking to build a long-term career in construction estimating. You will work closely with our experienced management teams, supporting projects through to construction and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the company at pretender and site meetings
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare cost estimates and tender submissions
- Complete quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations, maintain accurate records of pricing and supplier information
- Maintain project databases to deliver projects in line with KPIs, quality standards, and budgets
- Support the handover of successful tenders to project delivery team
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with project managers and contracts administrator
- Support the training and development of existing team members
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers as required
- Support post-tender reviews and cost comparisons
About you
- Relevant trade construction qualification (e.g., Carpentry Certificate 3, Certificate 4 building management)
- Knowledge of Residential and small to medium Commercial Building industry with previous experience highly desirable
- 4+ years' experience in a similar Estimating position
- The ability to help identify project opportunities and bring work through the door
- Strong computer skills — experience with Prime or other workflow systems is a bonus, but if you’re tech-savvy, we’re happy to teach you!
- Strong analytical, time management and planning skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and contractors.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and be solution focused
- An excellent communicator with a solution-based attitude
- The ability to influence, build and maintain networks with a range of stakeholders
- Able to work autonomously and liaise with internal departments as required
- Current Australian drivers' license WHS, trade certification & White Card
