Assistant Development Manager
Mixed-Use & Residential Developments | Full Project Lifecycle
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join a growing property development team delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use projects.
Working closely with senior development professionals, you will gain exposure across the entire development lifecycle, from site identification and acquisition through feasibility, planning, design, construction, sales and project completion.
This position would suit someone with approximately 3–5 years’ experience in property development, construction, project management, planning or a related field who is ready to take greater ownership of projects and progress towards a Development Manager position.
The Role
Reporting to senior members of the development team, you will assist with:
- Identifying and assessing potential development opportunities
- Preparing preliminary and detailed development feasibility models
- Undertaking market research, site due diligence and acquisition analysis
- Reviewing planning controls, zoning, development potential and approval pathways
- Supporting site acquisitions and transaction due diligence
- Coordinating architects, planners, engineers, quantity surveyors and other consultants
- Managing design development and value-management processes
- Assisting with development applications, planning approvals and authority requirements
- Preparing project budgets, cash flows, programmes and development reports
- Monitoring project costs, risks, revenue assumptions and financial performance
- Supporting funding, investment and internal approval submissions
- Assisting with tendering, contractor procurement and contract negotiations
- Monitoring construction progress, programme, quality and commercial outcomes
- Working with sales, marketing, leasing and property management teams
- Supporting settlements, project completion, handover and post-completion activities
- Maintaining strong relationships with consultants, contractors, authorities, investors and other key stakeholders
About You
You will ideally have:
- Approximately 3–5 years’ experience in property development, construction, project management, planning, property advisory or a related discipline
- Tertiary qualifications in Property Development, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Planning, Engineering, Property Economics or a related field
- Exposure to residential, mixed-use or other property development projects
- A sound understanding of the property development lifecycle
- Experience assisting with feasibility analysis, budgeting, planning or project delivery
- Strong financial, commercial and analytical capability
- The ability to coordinate multiple consultants and project workstreams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
- A proactive attitude and genuine interest in building a long-term career in property development
Experience using feasibility software such as EstateMaster or Forbury, together with strong Excel skills, will be highly regarded.

Pay: $91,299.25 – $198,072.77 per year
