The Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) supports excellence in education across Holmesglen by providing expertise in curriculum management, teaching and learning, educational resource development, professional development, academic governance and quality assurance. Working closely with Faculties and stakeholders, OTL ensures courses and learning experiences align with regulatory requirements and best practice.
This institute-wide role leads and supports academic governance, policy development and quality assurance across higher education, vocational education and training (VET), and secondary education. The position works collaboratively across the Institute to support academic governance committees, coordinate accreditation activities and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
As an Academic Governance and Policy Manager, you will:

Lead academic governance processes across the Institute and coordinate secretariat support for academic committees and governance frameworks.

Develop and review policies, procedures and documentation to support regulatory compliance and best practice.

Coordinate higher education accreditation and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and curriculum requirements.

Provide expert advice, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to monitor compliance, support quality assurance and strengthen educational governance across the Institute.

Lead a small team and collaborate with stakeholders to support curriculum management, professional development and academic quality.
To be successful, you’ll have:

A relevant postgraduate qualification in education or a related discipline is required. A doctorate or PhD in education or a recognised specialist field relevant to education will be highly regarded.

Demonstrated experience leading academic governance, policy development and regulatory compliance within an education environment.

Strong knowledge of education standards, accreditation frameworks and quality assurance requirements, including HESF, TEQSA, AQF, ASQA, VRQA and CRICOS.

Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build effective relationships across an organisation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, manage projects and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

A collaborative and outcomes-focused approach, with the ability to adapt to change, contribute to organisational goals and support a positive team culture.
WWCC and Police Check:
Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
