What this job involves:
As a key team member within the Operations Facilities Services team, lead overall management and execution of Facilities services in QLD & NSW across the Australia Post diverse portfolio via Operations Facilities team members, vendors, and other account team members.
Includes client liaison, works programming, budget control (OPEX & CAPEX input), management of service providers, operational resources and contracting requirements, as well as involvement in the sustainability, risk management, project and compliance delivery across the portfolio.
The Northern Facilities Management Lead will lead a team of Facilities Managers, ensuring team cohesiveness, managing growth and succession whilst minimising attrition.
Main Duties:
Contribute to asset plan development and strategic direction while managing legislative and contractual obligations under the JLL-Australia Post agreement.
Manage 500-1000+ FM projects including business case reviews, scope requirements, and quality assurance to ensure delivery to required standards.
Achieve financial targets, reduce reactive Opex costs by 5%, and manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting for both Capex and Opex.
Utilize JLL systems and digital reporting to review service levels, identify trends, and recommend strategies to improve service or reduce operational costs.
Build and maintain relationships with key client representatives while proactively managing expectations and achieving agreed service levels.
Develop contract management strategies, ensure adherence to deliverables, monitor contractor performance, and manage non-conformances through early intervention.
Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental regulations, BCA/NCC, Australian Standards, Disability Discrimination Act, and maintain Risk Registers.
Review incidents and trend analysis with HSSE team, manage incident reporting platforms, and ensure completion of insurance audit actions.
Proactively manage Facilities Managers and contractor staff while fostering teamwork, cooperation, and performance excellence.
Provide regular written reports on property and facilities management issues, ensure KPI compliance, and support Australia Post's sustainability aspirations.
Sound like you? This is what we’re looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in Facilities, Property, Engineering or related field. Demonstrable experience within a similar role will be well regarded.
12+ years of proven experience working in corporate sustainability, government or sustainability consulting within complex operating environments.
A demonstrated aptitude for the interpretation and analysis of numerical data; preferably in an energy, emissions or utilities context with an understanding of how they relate to the property and building management.
The ability to extract and analyse data into clear and logical reports with a particular attention to detail.
Proficient in the use of the MS Office product suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, particularly Excel with a knowledge of pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, etc.
