We are looking for Youth Mentor to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of youth and lowering the rates of recidivism for our participants through mentoring and support.
About the role:
The Youth mentor is responsible for working individually with participants and support networks to assist them into employment and training opportunities. The role is primarily based at our Northbridge Hub office and East Victoria Park office locations. As a mentor, you will be running pre-employment sessions; 1:1 mentoring with participants; delivering information sessions and practical skill sets etc.
This position is a full-time fixed term role until 30 June 2027.
Skills and Experience:
To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate the following work-related experience and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of mentoring support and assistance to participants with complex needs
- Experience in employment services (preferred)
- Ability to identify local employers and training pathways open to working with Justice Pathways
- Experience working with justice clients or within justice services/custodial settings is an advantage
- Ability to gather data and complete reporting requirements to meet quality assurance and contractual obligations
- Ability to work collaboratively with consortium partners and/or other community organisations and support services
- Tradesperson background (desirable)
- Horticultural background (desirable)
Essential Requirements:
- Department of Justice and Police Clearances (or ability to obtain)
- National Police Clearance Check
- Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- C Class Driver's Licence
