The ED features:

7 Acute Bays, including 1 Isolation Room

1 Treatment Room with Plaster Trap

2 Resuscitation Rooms

4 Fast Track Bays with comfortable recliners

3 Dedicated Paediatric Bays
In addition, the department includes 18 Short Stay Unit (SSU) beds, supporting seamless transitions from emergency care to observation and recovery.

Job Description
We are seeking Environmental Services Assistants / Orderly to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in line with infection control guidelines in all areas throughout the hospital and to transport patients between departments and whilst delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. This opportunity will have you being a part of a brilliant environmental services team and the emergency department team.
Your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness
-
Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas

Upholding infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and any additional precautions
-
Disposing of soiled general and clinical waste
-
Ensure safe and efficient transfer of patients around the hospital
-
Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
-
Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Emergency Department NUM, other Department Managers, Team and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidates will be punctual, reliable and with a commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.

Previous experience in a hospital environment is highly regarded but not essential

Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus

Compliance Workplace, Health and Safety and Infection Control

Have experience in cleaning services

Have experience or willing to learn how to safely transport patients

Be a team player and love to work within a large team

Demonstrate attention to detail and take pride in your work

Self-motivation and proficiency in working effectively while adhering to instructions and infection prevention and control

Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster is essential including mornings, afternoons and nights
