About Anatomical Pathology
The department of Anatomical Pathology provides services to over 20 public hospitals in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. It is the one of the largest public Anatomical Pathology departments in Victoria.
About the role
The Department of Anatomical Pathology are seeking a Grade 1 Medical Scientist (temporary full-time parental leave backfill, 12 months) to be located at our Bendigo Histology laboratory. The role comprises specimen reception, data entry, microtomy and staining of clinical trials and research, frozen sectioning and triage of renal biopsies.
As a Grade 1 Medical Scientist at Austin Pathology - Bendigo, you will work collaboratively with a small supportive team of professionals including one other scientist, a registrar and two pathologists. You’ll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategies and collaborate regularly with the Anatomical Pathology department located in Heidelberg.
About you
You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and strong commitment to improving your technical skills. You’ll further have an appropriate qualification in and previous experience in a laboratory setting is essential.
