The Queensland Academy of Sport is highly invested in Paralympic sports, and this roleprovides Physiotherapy support to our Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Basketball, and Para-Archery programs. The successful candidate will also support the transition of athletes from the QAS Para-Unit into elite sport training environments and contribute to projects relating to the uplift in Para-sport within the QAS.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide integrated physiotherapy services that optimise athlete health, wellbeing, and performance within QAS-supported programs.
Engage in proactive screening, monitoring, and management processes that support early intervention and long-term athletic development.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the Athlete Management System (AMS) to maintain continuity of care and performance insights.
Collaborate closely with coaches, performance support staff, and medical practitioners to align health strategies with performance goals.
Contribute to multidisciplinary planning and review meetings, offering expert guidance on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and workload management.
Foster strong relationships with athletes and staff to create a collaborative, athlete-centred performance environment.
Engage in continuous improvement through consultation with the Physiotherapy Technical Lead and contribution to system enhancement initiatives.

Mandatory qualifications
Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
Current Title of APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist OR APA Neurological Physiotherapist
Current full registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist
Current 'Working with Children' / Blue Card (before commencing services)
