About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College Springfield is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director to join our Outside School Hours Care team. This is a key leadership role supporting the effective operation of the OSHC service and works in partnership with the Service Leader and Educational Leader to ensure high quality care, and a compliant, safe, and inclusive environment for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership - Act as Person in Day-to-Day Charge (PIDTDC) when required and support the Service Leader to ensure smooth, consistent service operations.
- Program & Quality Delivery - Collaborate with the Educational Leader to plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality programs aligned with regulatory and curriculum requirements.
- Compliance & Child Safety - Ensure adherence to National Law, Regulations, NQS, and service policies while upholding a strong child-safe culture and prioritising children’s wellbeing.
- Team Leadership & Development - Mentor, coach, and support staff to build a collaborative, professional, and high-performing team.
- Family & Community Engagement - Build and maintain respectful relationships with children, families, school communities, and external stakeholders to support inclusive participation.
- Administration & Continuous Improvement - Support administrative, financial, and compliance tasks while contributing to quality improvement, record-keeping, and reflective practice.
What You Bring
- A Diploma in Children Services or in a relevant field consistent with ACECQA guidelines, and completion of the training for Service-Level PMCs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the developmental, social, and wellbeing needs of school-aged children and a sound understanding of the "My Time, Our Place - Framework for School Age Care."
- Experience working in an OSHC setting, as a person-in-charge, and in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and operational management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to the College’s Christian ethos and values.
