GoRecycle is growing, and we're looking for the right person to join our team!
We’re seeking a reliable, hardworking and motivated Team Member to join our busy scrap metal recycling yard in WA.
This is more than just a yard-hand position. For the right person, there is genuine opportunity to progress into a management/supervisor role as they develop their skills and demonstrate leadership, reliability and initiative, and opportunities to obtain training and licences.
What you'll be doing
1. Liaising with customers in the yard, helping with unloading and weighing
2. Loading and unloading vehicles and bins
3. Operating forklifts and other yard equipment (licence not essential as training can be supplied)
4. Identifying and processing different types of metals (training provided)
5. Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
6. Assisting with bin collections and deliveries when required
7. Working as part of a friendly, hands-on family run team
8. Taking on additional responsibility as your skills and experience grow
What we're looking for
We’re looking for a practical person who has previous experience working with hand and battery tools. Good problem-solving skills and a fast learner.
1. Is reliable, punctual and genuinely wants to work
2. Has good communication and customer service skills
3. Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
4. Has a strong work ethic and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty
5. Takes pride in keeping things organised and getting the job done properly
6. Can work independently but is also a good team player
7. Is hungry to learn and take on new responsibilities
8. Full driving licence – possible opportunities to obtain truck licence.
9. Is just as at home with physical work as they are using basic computer software.
10. Can follow GoRecycles’ stringent safety protocols
11. Has initiative and can see what needs doing without always being asked
12. Has a positive, friendly attitude and a willingness to grow with the business
Forklift licence and previous yard, recycling, construction, transport or mechanical experience would be an advantage, but we're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude.
We use mechanical means where possible for heavy lifting, but this is a metal yard and will involve some physical work – please bear this in mind when applying.

Long-term casual, with option to move to full time (4 or 5 days a week with occasional Saturdays)

Pay rate is entirely dependent on ability, attitude and can progress quickly for the right person. From mid-$30’1s into $40’s plus superannuation
Pay: $35.00 – $42.00 per hour
