- Designing and implementing automated testing solutions across APIs, services and digital platforms with an automation-first mindset
- Building and maintaining test frameworks that support functional, integration, performance and security testing
- Embedding automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, safer and more reliable software delivery
- Engineering and maintaining test environments and test data strategies that support repeatable, high-quality testing
- Working closely with engineers, architects and product teams to embed quality early in solution design
- Providing visibility of quality outcomes, risks and test coverage to support informed delivery decisions
- Driving continuous improvement in testing practices, tools and frameworks across the engineering community
- Helping teams reduce delivery risk while improving customer experience, platform resilience and system reliability
Do things differently with us
This isn't a traditional testing role. You'll be an engineer first, focused on building quality into our platforms rather than inspecting it at the end.
Working within our Customer Technology, Data and AI team, you'll help shape the future of how quality is delivered across our digital banking ecosystem. From API automation and performance testing through to CI/CD integration and test environment engineering, you'll work across the full delivery lifecycle to enable faster and safer change.
You'll collaborate closely with engineers, platform teams and business stakeholders to solve complex problems, improve engineering practices and deliver reliable digital experiences for our customers.

To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience as a Test Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar role in modern delivery environments
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building automated tests for APIs and services
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or similar
- Experience with automation frameworks and testing tools including API, contract, performance and security testing solutions
- Strong understanding of version control and collaborative development practices, including Git
- Experience engineering test environments, test data solutions and automation frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex systems and integrations
- Experience working within Agile, cross-functional delivery teams
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in test engineering and automation
