About the Role
IND Technology is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team on a part-time basis (3 days per week). You will work closely with our product, engineering, and support teams to create and maintain high-quality technical documentation that helps our customers successfully use our software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and maintain software/Hardware/Firmware release notes for each product release.
- Develop and update user guides, administration guides, and technical manuals.
- Create clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA, and support teams to gather technical information.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with product changes.
- Review and improve existing documentation to enhance usability and readability.
- Manage documentation versions and maintain documentation standards.
- Assist in developing documentation templates and style guides where required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a software or SaaS environment.
- Excellent written English with exceptional grammar and attention to detail.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Experience writing:
- Release notes
- User guides
- Installation or administration manuals
- Knowledge base articles
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and independently manage documentation projects.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Confluence, , Git, or similar platforms is desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile software/Firmware/Hardware development is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, English, or a related field.
- Experience documenting enterprise software or business applications.
- Understanding of software release processes and version control.
Desirable: Ability to quickly understand complex business processes and software functionality by working directly with subject matter experts and convert that knowledge into accurate, user-focused documentation.
Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
