About the role
Yeronga Child Development Centre is seeking an Educational Leader to join our team on a part-time basis in Yeronga, QLD 4104. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for fostering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where children develop socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. As an Educational Leader, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing quality educational programmes that align with early childhood education frameworks and best practice standards. This position is integral to our centre's mission of providing exceptional childcare and outside school hours care services that support children's holistic development and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational programmes and learning experiences that support children's development across all developmental domains
- Observe and assess children's learning and development, documenting progress and using this information to inform future planning and individualised support
- Provide mentoring, guidance and professional support to educators and support staff within the centre, fostering a collaborative and reflective learning culture
- Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity and positive social interactions
- Build strong relationships with families, communicating regularly about their child's learning, development and wellbeing
- Ensure compliance with relevant early childhood education and care regulations, policies and procedures
- Participate in professional development activities and stay current with contemporary early childhood education practices and research
- Collaborate with the centre leadership team to contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning
- Respond sensitively to children's individual needs, interests and learning styles, ensuring inclusive practices that celebrate diversity
What we're looking for
- Relevant early childhood education qualifications such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for working with children
- Knowledge and understanding of early childhood education frameworks, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver quality educational programmes that promote children's learning and development
- Strong observational and assessment skills with the ability to analyse and document children's progress effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, families and external partners
- Leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor, guide and support less experienced educators
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating inclusive, respectful learning environments
- Experience working with children in a childcare or outside school hours care setting is highly valued
- Working with Children Check clearance (or willingness to obtain one) as required by legislation
