We are seeking a skilled and motivated Risk Specialist to support the ongoing implementation and evolution of Council's Integrated Risk Management Framework and Crisis Management Response Framework.

The Opportunity
In this role, you will:

Support the implementation, development and review of the Integrated Risk Management Framework and Crisis Management Response Framework, including associated plans, processes and toolkits.

Provide practical advice, support and assistance to internal and external stakeholders on risk management, and crisis management matters.

Deliver key risk and crisis management activities across the organisation in line with legislative requirements and agreed timeframes.

Develop tools, resources, training and guidance to build capability and support consistent risk management practice.

Prepare accurate correspondence, documentation and reports for management, Council and the Corporate Governance Committee as required.

Build and maintain effective partnerships to ensure risk, and crisis management practices remain fit for purpose and support organisational goals.

Who you are
You are more than a risk professional. You are a trusted advisor, strategic thinker and problem solver who can translate complex concepts into practical outcomes.
You bring:

Experience in risk management, governance, compliance, audit, emergency management, business continuity or a related discipline.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

Experience supporting the development and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies and systems.

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, policies, training materials and executive-level documentation.

The ability to influence and support a positive organisational risk culture.
Sound judgement, professionalism and attention to detail. -
A collaborative approach focused on continuous improvement and organisational success.

Experience working within local government or other complex organisational environments will be highly regarded.
