Part-Time In-House Sales Estimator for a production company that services the performing arts industries.
Monart Pty Ltd is seeking a capable and commercially minded Sales Estimator to join our team on a part-time basis, working one to two days per week from our Chatswood office.
This is a flexible role, with working days to be agreed based on the successful applicant’s availability and our operational requirements.
Monart operates across the performing arts, construction, commercial installation, studio supply, events and film service industries. The role will involve preparing quotations and estimates, communicating with builders and clients, identifying suitable tender opportunities and preparing clear production documentation for our warehouse and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications, scopes of work and tender documents.
- Prepare accurate quotations, estimates and project costings.
- Calculate material, labour, production, delivery and installation requirements.
- Communicate with builders, contractors, architects, suppliers and clients to clarify project requirements.
- Identify missing information, discrepancies, risks and potential variations before quotations are issued.
- Follow up quotations and assist with converting suitable opportunities into confirmed work.
- Prepare clear job packs, cutting information, drawings, material schedules and production documents for warehouse and installation staff.
- Search relevant tendering platforms for suitable commercial projects and sales opportunities.
- Review tender requirements and coordinate the preparation of submissions.
- Maintain estimating records, pricing information, templates and supporting documentation.
- Assist with improving and developing the company’s estimating systems, processes and costing tools.
- Work closely with management, sales, warehouse and installation staff to support efficient project delivery.
- Develop detailed knowledge of Monart’s products, materials and installation methods, with training provided.
About You
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous experience in estimating, construction administration, sales support, project coordination or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret detailed plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to preparing estimates.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of labour, materials, margins and project risk.
- Confidence communicating with builders, contractors and clients.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet quotation and tender deadlines.
- A high level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to prepare clear instructions and documentation for production staff.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and improving business systems.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a small team.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, estimating software, CRM systems, architectural drawings or online tendering platforms would be advantageous but is not essential.
