About the Role
Nova Life Support Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable and proactive Disability Support Worker to support a young participant living in Wollstonecraft.
The participant is a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3) and an Intellectual Disability. They are non-verbal and communicate using an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device. This role requires a support worker who is patient, engaging and committed to building meaningful relationships while supporting the participant's independence, communication and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support in the home and community
- Supporting the participant to engage in community-based activities
- Assisting with skill development, social engagement and independence-building activities
- Supporting communication through the participant's AAC device
- Implementing support strategies in line with participant goals and support plans
- Providing detailed and accurate progress notes and documentation
- Supporting participation in swimming and aquatic activities
- Ensuring participant safety and wellbeing at all times
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability
- Understanding of non-verbal communication and AAC devices
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient and adaptable
- Confident swimmer and comfortable providing in-water support
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Full Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- Smartphone with the ability to use mobile apps and documentation systems
Availability Required
Applicants must be available for the following shifts:
- Monday (Day)
- Wednesday (Afternoon)
- Thursday (Afternoon)
- Saturday (Afternoon)

Pay: $45.28 – $55.38 per hour

- Wollstonecraft NSW: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
