Job Description
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Fire and Security Officer to join our team in Nedlands, Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting our facility, assets, and personnel by monitoring security systems, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security or fire-related incidents. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all occupants while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.

Monitor and operate fire detection and security alarm systems, responding immediately to any alerts or anomalies

Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including interior and exterior areas, to identify potential security risks or safety hazards

Maintain detailed logs and incident reports documenting all security activities, observations, and emergency responses

Perform access control duties, including verifying identification, managing entry points, and maintaining visitor records
-
Respond to emergency situations with professionalism and composure, coordinating with emergency services when necessary

Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire safety equipment, security cameras, and alarm systems
-
Enforce security protocols and safety procedures, educating occupants on compliance requirements

Investigate security breaches or suspicious activities and report findings to management

Maintain organized records of security incidents, maintenance activities, and equipment status
About You:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in security operations, fire safety, or a related field and:

Valid security officer certification or equivalent qualification

Current fire safety awareness training or certification

Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical fitness and capability to respond to emergency situations
-
Knowledge of security systems, CCTV operations, and alarm monitoring

First aid or CPR certification (preferred)

Familiarity with access control systems and security protocols (preferred)

Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
