Love being in the thick of the action? Thrive on leading teams, creating exceptional guest experiences and keeping service running like clockwork? Passionate about hospitality, retail, great food and making every day different?
Same.
You might have the secret sauce we’re looking for.
We're on the lookout for two experienced HRC Manager's to take the lead on the floor of our Hospitality & Retail Centre. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead and oversee all front of house operations across café, retail, tourism, events and seasonal Strawberry Patch activities, and ensure every guest experience reflects the quality Beerenberg is known for. You'll be the face of the venue on the floor and the leader the team looks to when service is in full swing. Working closely with, and reporting directly to, the HRC Venue Manager, you'll own the day-to-day flow of service, lead and develop the team, manage rosters and labour, and make the calls that keep things humming when the rush hits. If you're a leader who prefers being in the action rather than watching from the sidelines, we'd love to hear from you.
Want to know more about being a Beerenberg HRC Manager? Here’s what it says on the jar:
-
You'll own the floor, leading the day-to-day café and retail operation, setting the tone for service and ensuring every shift runs smoothly, efficiently and to Beerenberg standards from open to close.
-
You'll champion exceptional guest experiences, creating warm, memorable visits, resolving issues quickly and ensuring every interaction reflects and showcases the quality, values and heritage of the Beerenberg brand.
-
You'll build a high-performing team, providing clear direction, coaching, training and performance support while fostering a positive, collaborative culture that people genuinely want to be part of.
-
You'll keep service flowing, managing labour, rostering and shift operations across multiple departments and service areas to deliver great guest experiences while keeping one eye on the budget and the other on the queue.
-
You'll lead from the front, willingly stepping into any area of the operation when needed to support your team, whether that's the café, retail store, events, tourism experiences or the Strawberry Patch during peak periods.
-
You'll keep standards sky-high, championing WHS, food safety and operational compliance to ensure the venue remains safe, audit-ready and running as smoothly as our famous Strawberry Jam.
Now, for your own ingredients list. You’ll be the right person for this role if you are:
-
You've been in hospitality and want the part you love without the midnights. Creating memorable experiences? Absolutely. Locking up at 1am? Not so much.
-
An experienced hospitality or retail leader, with proven success leading teams, running shifts and delivering great guest experiences in a fast-paced environment. You're the kind of leader who prefers being in the action rather than watching from the sidelines.
-
An experienced people leader with proven success managing multiple teams, setting clear standards, coaching performance and maintaining exceptional service across fast-paced operational environments.
-
Equally comfortable talking coffee, customer service and kitchen workflow, with a solid understanding of what it takes to keep guests happy and service flowing smoothly.
-
A collaborative and adaptable operator, comfortable working across hospitality, retail, tourism and event functions while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
-
A natural organiser, able to balance an exceptional guest experience with labour, stock, costs and all the moving parts that keep a busy venue humming.
-
Calm under pressure and quick on your feet, making sound decisions and keeping service flowing when the coffee machine, lunch rush and tour groups all decide to arrive at once.
-
Qualified with a current RSA and Food Handling certificate, with a Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain one). Hospitality or Retail Management qualifications are a bonus, but hands-on experience is just as valuable in our recipe.
-
Passionate about hospitality, tourism and regional food experiences, with a genuine appreciation for creating memorable visitor experiences and everything that makes Beerenberg special.
“Sounds good, but what makes working at Beerenberg so sweet?”
At Beerenberg, we’re a family business through and through (have been since we used Grandma’s pan to make our very first batch of strawberry jam!) and we firmly believe that a happy team means happy customers.
We’ve spent decades perfecting the recipe for workplace satisfaction and we’re proud to say a number of Beerenberg team members have been with us for decades - you might even recognise some of their names that feature on our jars!
If we could bottle the thing that makes Beerenberg great, our team would be the secret sauce. We’d love to have you join the mix.
