About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria's purpose is to enhance community safety through the operation of safe and humane community corrections, adult prison and post-sentence systems that supports reducing reoffending by delivering on the fundamentals of good order and control in prisons, a professional and skilled workforce, case management and programs and services that address the root causes of offending behaviour.
The Workforce Capability and Cultural Reform branch supports the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, Workforce and Aboriginal Outcomes to drive workforce reform across the prison system. The branch focuses on building workforce capability, supporting cultural reform, and strengthening Corrections Victoria's ability to meet current and future workforce challenges.
About the Role
The Workforce Planning team delivers a range of workforce-related programs and services across Corrections Victoria. As a Senior Workforce Consultant, you will lead and manage strategic workforce planning projects and initiatives that support workforce capacity, capability, and organisational effectiveness.
Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Planning, you will provide expert advice on workforce supply and demand issues, develop innovative solutions to workforce challenges, and contribute to the professionalisation and ongoing development of the Corrections Victoria workforce.
This role offers an opportunity to influence workforce strategy at a system-wide level while working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across the organisation.
This is a full time, fixed term position through to October 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver workforce planning, capability development and workforce reform projects that support Corrections Victoria's strategic priorities.
- Provide expert workforce planning advice and develop innovative solutions to address workforce capacity, capability and organisational challenges.
- Analyse workforce data, trends and insights to inform decision-making, workforce forecasting and strategic workforce initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to design, implement and evaluate workforce programs and strategies.
- Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and recommendations, and contribute to branch planning, continuous improvement and organisational objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong analytical, project management and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to deliver outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex workforce planning, workforce capability or organisational development projects.
- Expertise in workforce planning, organisational design, organisational development and/or workforce transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing workforce change and reform programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate workforce data into practical recommendations.
- Well-developed digital literacy and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience developing workforce reporting, dashboards or workforce analytics products will be highly regarded.
