The opportunity
The Team Leader Food Services is a key leadership role responsible for providing both operational and strategic direction to Council's Food Services team. The role ensures the effective delivery of Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC PYP) services, while maintaining compliance, quality standards and positive client outcomes. With responsibility for workforce leadership, service improvement and program sustainability, this role plays a critical part in ensuring vulnerable community members continue to receive high-quality, client-centred food services.
What you’ll do
- Lead and coordinate Food Services operations to ensure quality service delivery and client outcomes.
- Oversee procurement, ordering and distribution processes to meet nutritional and individual client needs.
- Ensure compliance with CHSP, HACC PYP, food safety, legislative and funding requirements.
- Lead, develop and support staff and volunteers, including workforce planning, recruitment and performance management.
- Drive continuous improvement, reporting, stakeholder engagement and achievement of strategic service objectives.
What you need to succeed
- Relevant qualification in Food Services, Hospitality, Community Services, Health, Nutrition, Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading and developing teams in a service delivery environment.
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, procurement and food safety requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of CHSP, HACC PYP and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements
