Job Description
We are seeking experienced Shovel Operators to join our team at Capcoal Surface Operations in Middlemount, Queensland. Capcoal Surface is an established open‑cut coal operation producing approximately 5.1 Mtpa and operating a diverse fleet that includes an electric rope shovel, five excavators, two draglines and three drills.
As a Shovel Operator, you will safely operate the shovel while coordinating your work area to achieve optimal productivity in line with legislative requirements and the daily plan. You will focus on maximising digging efficiency and minimising delays and downtime, while communicating effectively to support a positive and collaborative team environment. In this role, you will promptly raise any safety concerns with supervisors and report maintenance issues accurately and in a timely manner. You will also share your knowledge with others and contribute to continuous improvement across the team with the aim of improving safety and efficiency or reducing operating costs.
Qualifications

Minimum 2 years experience on 4100 Electric Rope Shovel is essential (evidence required)

Experience operating mining excavators, dozers and graders will be highly regarded

Proactive commitment to safety and management of risks including demonstrated experience following safe work practices and standard operating procedures
