The Role
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused
Specifications Officer to join our Innovation team at our Pakenham site on a
12-month maximum term contract. This role has been created to support an exciting project that will help shape the future of our Pakenham operations.
You'll play an important role in ensuring our product specifications, packaging artwork and customer portal information are accurate, compliant and published on time, helping deliver successful product launches and project outcomes. The main duties and responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to;
- Creating, maintaining and publishing finished product, raw material, packaging and AWB specifications across customer portals and internal systems.
- Reviewing packaging artwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Managing specification updates, approvals and version control.
- Supporting product launches by ensuring specifications and artwork are completed within project timelines.
- Working closely with Innovation, Quality, Packaging, Marketing and Supply Chain teams to gather and validate product information.
- Ensuring all specifications meet customer requirements and food labelling regulations.
- Supporting internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
- Identifying opportunities to improve specification and publishing processes.
The Person
The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-focused, and passionate about accuracy and compliance. You'll bring experience managing product specifications within the food industry, work well with a range of stakeholders, and enjoy contributing to the successful delivery of new products in a collaborative environment. You will also have;
- Proven experience using customer specification portals is essential, with the ability to confidently create, update and publish product specifications.
- Experience in food manufacturing, ideally in specifications, quality, product development or R&D.
- A sound understanding of food labelling requirements and regulatory standards, including FSANZ.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
- Experience using specification management systems or ERP platforms will be highly regarded.
- A Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Nutrition or a related discipline is desirable. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
