We Assist You Disability Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced male Support Worker / Allied Health Assistant who is fluent in Arabic and English to provide individualised support to an NDIS participant.
We are looking for someone who can build a positive and respectful relationship with the participant while supporting their independence, wellbeing and NDIS goals.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing person-centred support in the participant's home and community
- Supporting daily living activities and routines
- Assisting with community access and social participation
- Supporting the participant to work towards their NDIS goals
- Implementing strategies recommended by Allied Health Professionals and Behaviour Support Practitioners
- Providing positive engagement and emotional support
- Completing progress notes and relevant documentation
- Communicating effectively with the participant, family and broader support team
- Respecting the participant's privacy, dignity, cultural background and individual preferences
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is male
- Is fluent in Arabic and English
- Has experience as a Disability Support Worker, Allied Health Assistant or in a similar role
- Is patient, respectful, reliable and professional
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can follow Behaviour Support and Allied Health recommendations
- Is confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check, where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Previous experience within the NDIS/disability sector is highly regarded
- Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, Allied Health or a related field is desirable
