As customer demand and business activity continue to grow, the business requires an experienced Retail Manager to oversee store operations and support the ongoing success and expansion of the restaurant.
Position Overview
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Labello Pizzeria, ensuring the business operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service, staff performance, stock control, and operational compliance. The role requires strong leadership capability within a busy hospitality environment and involves direct responsibility for financial performance, staff supervision, inventory management, and customer engagement.
This is a senior operational role suited to an experienced hospitality or retail management professional who can lead a team in a structured, high-volume service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Determining product mix, stock levels, and service standards to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Developing and implementing purchasing, pricing, and promotional strategies to support sales growth and profitability
- Coordinating marketing and promotional activities to increase customer engagement and brand awareness
- Monitoring daily sales performance, operational costs, and business profitability indicators
- Maintaining accurate records relating to inventory, sales transactions, and operational activities
- Managing recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering, and supervision of staff members
- Ensuring high standards of customer service are consistently maintained across all areas of operation
- Monitoring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety standards, and company procedures
- Handling customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues in a professional and efficient manner
- Supporting overall restaurant operations and contributing to continuous business improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience supervising staff and coordinating rosters
- Sound understanding of stock control, cost management, and hospitality operations
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy customer service environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications
- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications
- Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience within restaurant, pizza shop, café, or hospitality operations will be highly regarded
Work Environment
The Retail Manager role is operational and hands-on, requiring active involvement in day-to-day restaurant activities alongside staff members. The position requires strong time management, leadership capability, and the ability to maintain operational consistency within a fast-paced hospitality setting.
