About Mr Papa
Established in 2013, Mr Papa Peruvian Street Food has been bringing the flavours of Lima, Peru to Canberra.
From our shop to our catering events, we’re all about great food, big flavours and good vibes. We’re a small, energetic team that loves what we do and takes pride in creating a fun, positive and supportive workplace.
We’re currently looking for a Cafe All Rounder to join our team. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety and is happy to jump between the cafe and kitchen wherever they’re needed.
About the Role
No two days are exactly the same at Mr Papa!
You’ll mainly be working across our daytime cafe operations, but you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in kitchen prep and catering when things get busy.
Your day might include taking orders and looking after customers one minute, helping prepare lunch orders or getting catering ready the next.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, genuine service
- Taking orders in person and over the phone
- Using our POS and ordering platforms including Me&U, Square and Uber Eats
- Preparing and serving food and drinks
- Assisting with kitchen preparation and lunch orders
- Helping with catering preparation when required
- Keeping the cafe and kitchen clean, tidy and organised
- Stocking and rotating products
- Supporting the team wherever needed
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Working together to keep service running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, energetic and customer focused
- Reliable and ready to get stuck in
- Comfortable working across both FOH and kitchen duties
- Able to stay organised when things get busy
- A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Confident speaking with customers
- Comfortable learning new systems and tasks
- Someone who takes pride in their work and has a positive can do attitude
Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not essential. If you’ve got the right attitude, we can teach you the rest.
Safe Food Handling certification is an advantage.
