Job Description
Join our dedicated Environmental Services team at Ramsay Clinic – Caloundra as a Permanent Part-Time Night Housekeeping Assistant.
Working 28 hours per fortnight across 10-hour shifts, with additional shifts available, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and staff.
Working primarily during night shifts, you will be responsible for cleaning hospital offices, common areas and the Day Surgery area while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection prevention. This role provides an opportunity to work independently while being part of a supportive healthcare team.
Full Fire Warden and CPR training will be provided, allowing you to provide additional support to the Mental Health nursing team when required.
Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain hospital offices, common areas and clinical areas to a high standard.

Complete cleaning duties within the Day Surgery area.

Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping duties.

Remove rubbish and waste safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital procedures.

Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Follow Infection Prevention and Control, Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Services procedures at all times.

Work independently during night shifts and manage cleaning tasks effectively.

Operate cleaning equipment and machinery as required, with training provided where necessary.

Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate staff member.

Complete Fire Warden and CPR training and provide additional support to the Mental Health nursing team when required.

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and respect when working within a healthcare environment.
About You
You are a reliable, motivated and conscientious individual who takes pride in your work and enjoys contributing to a clean and safe healthcare environment.
You are comfortable working independently during night shifts and have a strong work ethic, attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You are also willing to learn new skills and undertake additional responsibilities, including Fire Warden and CPR training.
This role would suit someone who is dependable, organised and takes pride in providing a high-quality service to patients, staff and visitors.
You Will Also Bring

Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services is desirable.

Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.

Basic understanding of Infection Prevention and Control principles.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively during night shifts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
