About the role
The Registered Nurse - Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU) provides contemporary, evidence-based nursing care within Metro North Mental Health at Caboolture Hospital. Working as part of an interprofessional mental health team, the role supports consumers through recovery-oriented care, rehabilitation and therapeutic interventions that promote optimal health, wellbeing and independence.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality consumer-focused care within a secure rehabilitation environment, applying sound clinical judgement and professional nursing expertise to support consumers with complex mental health needs. The role also contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment through collaboration, education, quality improvement and effective multidisciplinary teamwork.

Provide contemporary, evidence-based nursing care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of consumer care.
Apply clinical nursing expertise and professional judgement to support consumers with complex mental health and rehabilitation needs.
Work collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery-focused and person-centred care.
Contribute to a safe therapeutic environment through effective communication, delegation, risk management and adherence to professional standards.
