We're PKM Earthmoving, a Loganholme, Brisbane-based civil earthmoving contractor, specialising in residential infill subdivision across Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, and the Gold Coast. We've been doing this for a long time, we do it properly, and we're looking for an experienced CW3 excavator operator who operates the same way.
This role isn't for everyone
We'd rather have one exceptional excavator operator than three average ones. We're growing and not just trying to fill a seat - we're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and the outcomes it produces.
If you cut corners, this won't be the place for you.
If paperwork, safety, and attention to detail are things you view as someone else's problem, keep looking.
But if you take genuine pride in leaving a site better than you found it - if you're the kind of person who checks their own levels, greases the machine without being asked, spots a problem before it becomes expensive, and steps in to help a teammate - we'd like to talk.
What the work actually looks like
You'll be operating excavators, positracks and associated plant across small to medium civil subdivision projects. But the job isn't really about what you're sitting in.
It's about owning outcomes.
Some days that means you're in the cab. Other days you're checking levels, problem-solving an access issue, helping a labourer, or staying back to make sure a pour or a drain is right before you leave. You'll work alongside people who expect that of themselves too - and who'll back you the same way.
You'll be trusted to make decisions on site and represent PKM professionally with clients, engineers, and subbies. That means we need someone who communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and brings solutions to problems rather than excuses.
This isn't an entry-level role, and it isn't a seat-filler position.
We're looking for someone with solid civil construction experience who can work confidently without constant supervision, consistently deliver quality outcomes, and is ready to take the next step in their career.
If your long-term goal is to become a Leading Hand or Supervisor, and you want to earn that opportunity by contributing, mentoring others, and setting the standard on site, you'll fit right in at PKM.
