The Role:
We are seeking Ambulance Attendants (NEPT) to join our growing transport team in Melbourne. You will be responsible for the safe, timely, and caring transportation of patients to and from hospitals, aged care facilities, medical appointments, dialysis units, and other healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
We have a short-term opportunity from 8 July to 10 July. The dates are tentative and subject to confirmation.
- Safely operate stretcher and wheelchair-accessible patient transport vehicles.
- Provide compassionate support during patient journeys.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment checks before each shift.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, healthcare facilities, patients, and families.
- Maintain accurate trip and patient transport records.
- Assist with lifting, transfers, and patient handling within manual handling guidelines.
- Follow infection control, safety procedures, and relevant transport requirements.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent qualification - preferred.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Valid full driver’s licence with a good driving record.
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
- Working with Children Check, where applicable.
- Vaccinations in line with healthcare requirements.
- Good physical fitness for patient handling tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
For Ambulance Attendant roles:
- Diploma of Emergency Health Care, Bachelor of Paramedicine, Bachelor of Nursing, or relevant equivalent qualification/experience will be highly regarded.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in patient transport, ambulance services, aged care, disability, or healthcare support.
- Manual Handling and Infection Control training.
