Join Our Team as a Clinical Midwife
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Midwife to join our dedicated Night Duty team on a permanent part-time basis. This pivotal role involves providing exceptional midwifery and neonate care, acting as a clinical and professional resource, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
About the Role:
As a Clinical Midwife, you will be a vital part of our maternity and neonate care team, demonstrating broad knowledge and clinical expertise. You will apply a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the clinical setting. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing comprehensive clinical care for patients and neonates, utilising specialist knowledge and a customer service focus.

Conducting mental, social, and physical assessments, treatment, and delivery of continuing care/case management for maternity patients and neonates.

Maintaining a high level of nursing care, including accurate clinical recording and reporting, planning, implementation, and review of nursing care.

Checking, preparing, and administering all medications in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.

Observing and implementing Infection Control policies and procedures.

Participating in the education of all levels of staff, including department orientation, in-servicing, and clinical competence programs.

Undertaking the role of preceptor for graduate nurses, new employees, and undergraduate students.

Liaising with Midwifery Unit Managers, Clinical Midwifery Specialists and Specialist Staff Development Midwives to drive education within the unit.

Managing unpredicted acute situations using advanced problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.

Consistently performing accurate and comprehensive patient assessments to address individual short and long-term needs.

Participating in discharge planning, coordinating activities with other health care professionals.

When required, you will work in a leadership role in clinical areas, undertaking mentoring and coaching duties, and taking charge of the unit by supervising, leading, directing, and motivating staff.

You are an experienced and dedicated Midwife with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and education. You possess a high level of clinical expertise and are passionate about supporting both patients and colleagues. You will demonstrate:

A strong understanding and application of all facets of Midwifery and Neonate care.

A current RANZCOG FSEP 3 for CTG interpretation.

Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

A commitment to continuous quality improvement processes.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients, doctors, and the team.

Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from: $56.40 – 59.93 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)
