About the Role:
As the Youth Worker you will liaise between students, school personnel, and the home parents/guardians of any students who encounter educational, social, emotional or behaviour problems.
The Youth Worker reports to the Principal or delegated officer.
Responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff and community agencies to support student wellbeing and engagement.
Monitor attendance, identify students at risk and implement early intervention strategies to improve school participation.
Support students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural or family challenges through individualised support and referrals.
Conduct home visits and work collaboratively with families to strengthen connections between home and school.
Develop and deliver programs that build social skills, resilience and positive behaviours.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to student support planning and case management.
Promote a positive, inclusive school culture and provide advice to school leadership on student wellbeing and risk.
