Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and experienced Orthopaedic Nurse to join our management team at The Avenue! As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be taking on a key leadership role within our Lower Limb Orthopaedics ward.
About the Role
You’ll be working closely with the clinical team to ensure the provision of high standard patient care and efficient management of staff and resources. This will be with the overall goal of ensuring excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures and best practice. Reporting into the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, you will be mentoring and leading a well-established team of nurses and clinical support staff so this role will suit an individual driven to help others succeed.
Key Responsibilities:

Be accountable for the clinical, operational and professional leadership of the unit

Ensure the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care and optimal clinical outcomes

Plan, implement and evaluate practices, processes and services in line with Ramsay Health Care standards, legislative requirements and best practice
About You
The successful NUM thrives in a complex and demanding environment and is able to work collaboratively with medical, nursing and executive colleagues. They strive for continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives, workforce management and effective resource utilisation to achieve excellence in care delivery.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset, with recent management experience. You will also bring the following:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

Minimum of 5 years’ recent acute nursing and recent orthopaedic experience

Proven knowledge as a senior nurse or manager (highly desirable)

Flexibility to work within a dynamic team across the organisation
-
Management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded
-
Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
-
Ability to effectively plan and manage financial, human and capital resources
