We’re The Y WA (formerly YMCA WA), and we have a range of casual opportunities available – perfect for career kick-starters, Assistant/Qualified Educators, and Room Leaders.

The awesome perks on offer
- If you’re a casual OSHC Assistant Educator or ELC Early Childhood Educator (unqualified), you’ll earn $37.57-$38.17+ 12% Super per hour
- If you’re a casual Cert II or Cert III OSHC Assistant Educator or ELC Assistant Early Childhood Educator, you’ll earn $36.96 to $45.17 + 12% Super per hour
- If you’re a casual OSHC Qualified Educator, ELC Early Childhood Educator (qualified) or ELC Room Leader. You’ll earn $47.67 to $51.38 + 12% Super per hour
- Immediate access to the 15% ECEC Worker Retention Payment
- Choose from services across Perth Metro (North, South, East & West) and regional WA (Albany, Manjimup, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman, Broome).

What you’ll be doing
Whether you join our Out-Of-School-Hours Care (OSHC) or Early Learning Centre (ELC) teams, your days will be filled with connection, creativity, and care.
In OSHC, you’ll help create fun before-school, after-school, and holiday programs for primary school-aged children, building strong relationships with kids and families.
In ELC, you’ll support little ones as they grow socially, emotionally, and academically, while working alongside a supportive team of educators.
Whichever path you choose, at the end of your shift, you’ll walk out the door knowing the children are continuing to develop in body, mind, and spirit.
Where you’ll be located

You’ll be great in one of these roles if you…
- (for OSHC Qualified Educator applications) Hold a Cert IV (or Cert III -30121) from a recognised institution in OSHC or a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education/Teaching or equivalent
- (for ELC Early Childhood Educator (qualified)/Room Leader applications) Hold a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- (for OSHC or ELC Assistant/Educator (cert qualified) applications) Hold a Cert II or Cert III in from a recognised institution in OSHC or Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- (for OSHC or ELC Assistant/Unqualified Educator applications) Have a natural desire to help children develop and learn while kick-starting your career in the children services industry
- Love inspiring and engaging with children
- Can obtain a National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check
- Can obtain the necessary First Aid certifications
