Amana Community Services provides high-quality aged care and disability support that respects cultural needs and promotes independence. We deliver services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), including Domestic Assistance to help clients maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Part-Time or Casual Domestic Cleaner to provide domestic assistance services to our aged care clients and NDIS participants. You will be responsible for keeping homes clean, safe, and hygienic, supporting clients to live independently and with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general home cleaning duties such as:
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
- Dusting furniture and surfaces
- Cleaning kitchens (including sinks, benches, stovetops, and microwaves)
- Cleaning bathrooms, toilets, and showers
- Emptying bins and removing rubbish
- Changing bed linen and making beds
- Laundry duties (washing, drying, folding, ironing) as required
- Following infection control and safe cleaning practices
- Reporting any safety hazards or home maintenance issues to your supervisor
- Respecting clients’ privacy, dignity, and cultural needs at all times
- Working in line with CHSP and NDIS Domestic Assistance service guidelines
Essential Requirements
- Current National Police Check (must be less than 3 months old or willing to obtain)
- Current Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Ability to travel between client homes during the day
- Physically fit to carry out cleaning tasks safely
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Commitment to respecting confidentiality and clients’ personal space
Desirable
- Experience in cleaning or domestic assistance (in aged care, disability, or private homes)
- Understanding of safe work practices, including infection control
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
