About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the MLHD District Allied Health team, as the MLHD Social Work Advisor.
This role provides leadership, governance and professional advice and support for social workers across the district.
Base location is negotiable within the MLHD geographical footprint, with the role best suited to a social worker holding an existing clinical role within the district.
As the Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
Providing strategic/ planning advice to the MLHD Manager Allied Health / relevant MLHD Executive as required
Support for service managers and department heads in Social Work service delivery matters
Representation and participation in relevant MLHD and NSW Health groups to promote and ensure discipline professional governance

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A Tertiary qualification in in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Record of achievement in Social Work in a leadership and / or management role within a complex health care delivery environment
Understanding of contemporary models of Social Work health care delivery with particular relevance for rural and regional Health Services
Expertise and experience relating to Social Work clinical governance, service planning and delivery, and workforce issues
Ability to introduce and implement innovative service models and professional practice
