Roof Tiler – Full Time
Challenger Roofing is a growing roofing company based in Sydney, NSW, specialising in residential roofing services, including new roof installations, re-roofing, roof repairs and roof restorations. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Roof Tiler to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
The successful applicant will work across a range of residential roofing projects throughout the Sydney metropolitan area, delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install concrete and terracotta roof tiles on new and existing roofs.
- Remove, repair and replace damaged or broken roof tiles.
- Install roof battens, sarking and roof underlay.
- Carry out roof repairs, maintenance and leak detection.
- Perform roof restorations, including ridge capping, bedding and flexible pointing.
- Measure, cut and fit roofing materials to required specifications.
- Read and interpret construction plans and job specifications.
- Ensure all roofing work complies with Australian Standards and relevant building regulations.
- Work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection equipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure high standards of quality workmanship.
- Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, organised and safe worksite.
- Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects within required timeframes.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Roof Tiler.
- Demonstrated experience installing and repairing concrete and terracotta roof tile systems.
- Experience in new roof installations, roof repairs and roof restorations.
- Ability to safely use roofing tools and equipment.
- Construction White Card.
- Working at Heights certification (preferred).
- Current Australian Driver Licence (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment.
Employment Details
- Position: Full-time, Permanent
- Location: Sydney, NSW
- Salary: $80,000–$90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
