About the position
The Technical Officer Engineering provides technical advice and assistance to support Council’s Water and Wastewater and Infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical, engineering, and administrative support to Water and Wastewater assets and operations teams.
- Assist with technical advice, asset data, and reporting for Water and Wastewater asset managers with assets
- Provide technical advice and assistance in the management of projects for Water and Wastewater
- Support the development of businesses cases, specifications, tender documentation, work programs, and delivery of works to improve efficiency and reliability of Water and Wastewater assets
- Collate asset data and coordinate use of internal and external resources for condition assessment of assets and other asset management projects supporting Council’s Asset Management systems, GIS databases, and asset registers and capitalisation
- Assist in the assessment of engineering standards as applied to Development Applications
- Support development, implementation and monitoring of project plans, project scheduling, budget tracking, procurement support, and reporting to support the delivery of projects and programs
- Provide on-site supervision and support of construction and maintenance works
About you
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline or equivalent, or minimum 2 – 5 years’ work experience in water and wastewater industry/operations and willingness to achieve a relevant tertiary qualification
- Certificate IV qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in Project Management and Contract Management
- Demonstrated organisational and planning skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities
- Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office Software and experience in the use of relevant software programs - e.g. Asset Management, MS Project, databases; GIS management systems
- Ability to work in a team environment, with demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Current class C or Provisional driver’s license
- General Induction Construction Card (White Card)

- Salary from $83,894 to $94,259 per year(depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
