At Milestones Early Learning Hillcrest, we believe healthy eating is an important part of every child's learning journey. We're looking for a passionate and organised Cook to join our welcoming team and create nutritious, delicious meals that help children thrive every day.
With our centre licensed for 74 children, you'll play a vital role in supporting children's growth, wellbeing, and lifelong healthy habits in a fun and rewarding environment.
As our Centre Cook, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Create healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children of all ages
- Plan seasonal menus that support children's growth and development
- Cater to allergies, dietary requirements, and cultural preferences
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and kitchen budgets
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
- Engage with children through food education experiences and centre events
- Access a supportive network of Affinity cooks who share recipes, ideas, and best practices
- Utilise the nationally recognised Feed Australia Program to simplify menu planning and budgeting
You're someone who takes pride in preparing nutritious meals and creating positive food experiences for children. You bring:
- Experience preparing meals in a high-volume environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and nutrition requirements
- Confidence managing stock ordering and kitchen budgets
- A genuine passion for children's health and wellbeing
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team culture
- Current Food Safety Supervisor and Food Handler qualifications
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transport
- Experience working in an early childhood setting (highly regarded)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (desirable)
