MBM is seeking a driven and well-connected Client Relationship Advisor to join our Queensland team on a part-time basis. This is a business development-first role, designed to build and deepen MBM’s presence and relationships within the QLD property and construction market.
Description:
MBM Overview:
MBM is a national, independent, Australian-owned property consultancy, established in 2002 and respected across the property, construction and infrastructure sectors as one of Australia’s most trusted and reliable consultancies. Our services span Quantity Surveying, Building Consultancy, Tax Depreciation and Asset Services, PPP Advisory, Facilities Management Advisory and Expert Witness, supporting clients across the full project lifecycle.
With offices across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, our team works on a genuinely diverse national portfolio – from commercial towers and health and aged care assets to education, government, aviation and industrial projects. At MBM, we’re Experts Delivering Certainty – for our clients, and for the careers of our people.
About the role:
Working closely with QLD Directors and in collaboration with the national Clients & Marketing team, you will be the key driver of strategic BD activity in Queensland - from planning and mapping targets through to attending coffees, events, and roundtables. You will bring your own network to the role and be equally motivated to continue growing it.
This is a flexible, part-time role (2 – 3 days per week) and we are open to finding the right arrangement for the right person. While the focus is firmly on business development, there will be some overlap with the broader marketing function.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development Planning
Develop and maintain a strategic BD plan for QLD, identifying the who, what, when, and where of target engagement
Map target sectors, clients, and consultants in collaboration with QLD Directors and national Clients & Marketing team
Maintain a QLD engagement schedule, tracking planned and completed BD activities
Identify and pursue opportunities for cross-pollination of relationships across MBM’s national business
Input all BD activity, leads, and opportunities into MBM’s CRM platform, keeping records accurate and current
Client & Business Development Engagement
Own and drive BD activity in Queensland, including arranging and attending coffee catch-ups, B2Bs, roundtables, and industry events
Attend client meetings independently where appropriate, and strategically plan and accompany QLD Directors to key BD meetings
Provide BD ‘hand holding’ to the team - proactively briefing, preparing, and supporting in advance of client-facing activity
Build and nurture genuine relationships with key clients, consultants, and industry figures in the QLD market
Bring an established Queensland network to the role, with the drive to continue expanding it in collaboration with the QLD team
Collect and relay market intelligence, leads, and competitor insights from client interactions to inform MBM’s QLD strategy
Events & Industry Presence
Attend industry events and functions, representing MBM and building relationships on behalf of the QLD team
Identify relevant events, sponsorships, and industry body involvement that support MBM’s QLD business objectives
Support the delivery of bespoke client engagement events in QLD (e.g. roundtable lunches, client functions), in collaboration with the national marketing team
Marketing & Team Collaboration
Work within the broader Clients & Marketing team to ensure QLD BD activity is aligned with national strategy
Collaborate with the Head of Clients & Marketing on sector mapping, account planning, and activity strategy for QLD
Provide market insights and local intelligence to inform national marketing campaigns and communications
Support key QLD fee proposals where relationship context and market knowledge can strengthen submissions
