Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess the following:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification in a relevant field
- At least one year of relevant practical experience as a Cook
- Previous experience in a Chinese or Asian restaurant will be highly regarded
- Strong kitchen organisation and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and busy restaurant environment
- Reliable, passionate, and self-motivated attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills
About the Role
As a Cook, you will be employed on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week, and will be responsible for the following duties:
- Preparing ingredients and inspecting the quality of food and produce prior to daily service
- Cooking, seasoning, and portioning meals in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards
- Operating kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, fryers, pans, and other cooking appliances
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen stations, equipment, and food preparation areas
- Assisting the Head Chef with menu preparation and kitchen operations
- Supporting day-to-day kitchen activities as directed by the Head Chef
- Following workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining food hygiene standards
- Ensuring company policies, procedures, and quality expectations are consistently met
Pay: $72,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
