We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Manager – Risk & Compliance to play a pivotal role in supporting our Superannuation (Master Trust) business through a period of transformation. This is a highly visible role where you’ll partner with senior leaders, influence strategic initiatives, and work with service providers and help embed a strong, forward looking risk culture across the business. This senior Line 1 Risk role reports into the Head of Risk.
As a hands-on trusted advisor, you’ll provide high quality risk and compliance support while driving the uplift and embedment of Insignia Financial’s Risk Management Framework. You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, regulation, and operations, to ensure we deliver compliant, well governed, and customer centric outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
Lead, coach and influence a team, fostering a high-performing and accountable culture
Partner with the business on strategic initiatives, providing expert risk and compliance guidance
Drive the embedment and continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework
Lead the integration and uplift of risk and compliance processes across the division
Provide timely, high quality technical advice and action regulatory obligations in the GRC system, perform incident triage, action breach assessments, conduct compliance plan reviews, assess impact on critical operations and address prudential matters
Identify and interpret regulatory change, translating it into actionable business outcomes
Review business proposals and projects to ensure alignment with compliance and risk requirements, and undertake delivered risk assessments
Oversee and monitor project adherence to risk and compliance standards
Prepare and present clear, concise reporting for executives, Boards, and regulators
Support regulatory and Board engagements as required
Champion a proactive risk culture, influencing and challenging stakeholders constructively
Provide subject matter expertise across governance forums, steering committees, and key initiatives
What you bring
8+ years’ experience in risk and compliance within financial services (superannuation highly regarded)
Strong understanding of the superannuation regulatory environment, obligations, and frameworks
Proven leadership capability, with experience motivating and influencing teams, senior stakeholders, and service providers
Deep experience across risk frameworks, controls testing (OE/DE), assurance, incidents, and breach reporting
Ability to manage incident portfolios end-to-end, including regulatory submissions and stakeholder engagement
Strong commercial acumen with knowledge across operations, products, and fund administration
Experience delivering risk and compliance outcomes within transformation or project environments
Exceptional stakeholder management skills - confident, collaborative, and able to challenge constructively
Highly analytical with the ability to interpret complex legislation and apply it practically
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Meticulous acumen when preparing executive-level reporting and presentations
Strong communication skills, with experience dealing with 3rd party service providers day to day a plus
Power BI, data management, business process mapping experience a plus
