The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong quality engineering focus to join our team.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, quality systems, and metrology, ensuring our products consistently meet demanding technical and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimise manufacturing processes, tooling and production systems for precision engineered components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and gear geometry to determine manufacturing requirements and product performance criteria.
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to analyse product designs, manufacturing processes and component performance.
- Conduct engineering investigations, root cause analyses and failure assessments to resolve manufacturing and mechanical issues.
- Design and develop gauges, fixtures and inspection methods to support precision manufacturing and product compliance.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing equipment, processes and production systems to enhance efficiency, reliability and product quality.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and technical evaluations to ensure compliance with design and performance requirements.
- Support new product introduction, process validation and continuous improvement initiatives through engineering analysis and technical problem-solving.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, technical reports, work instructions and process specifications.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and production teams to implement engineering solutions and achieve project objectives.
- Maintain compliance with engineering standards, quality systems and industry requirements, including ISO9001 and AS9100D.

About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in manufacturing, machining or precision engineering
- Strong hands-on capability across production, quality and engineering functions
- High attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Highly Regarded
- Experience in gear manufacturing or power transmission components
- Exposure to defence, aerospace, or high-spec industries
- Advanced metrology or quality system experience (ISO9001 / AS9100D)
