The Role: DevOps Application Support Engineer
In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering and operations. You’ll take ownership of a suite of Java-based applications and their cloud-native platforms, ensuring performance, reliability, and smooth customer experiences at scale.
Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving production systems using modern observability tools
- Investigating logs and distributed systems to pinpoint and resolve issues
- Working with cloud platforms and containerised environments to optimise deployments
- Automating processes, improving runbooks, and contributing to CI/CD enhancements
- Collaborating with engineering teams to uplift platform health and operational maturity
- Participating in on-call rotations as part of a supportive team
- Documenting insights, sharing knowledge, and continually improving processes
What You’ll Bring
- Experience supporting Java applications with strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), containers, and monitoring tools like Sumo Logic or Dynatrace
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
