What will you do?
As our Junior Data Officer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the accuracy, completeness and presentation of business listings across Localsearch.com.au – supporting our directory quality, customer experience and search performance.
- Create new business listings on Localsearch.com.au in line with data standards and formatting guidelines
- Improve and edit existing business profiles to enhance their presentation and performance in list views
- Review listings within assigned categories to identify inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or miscategorised information
- Add logos, photos and other visual assets to business profiles, ensuring images meet quality and sizing standards
- Ensure listing information such as business name, category, address, contact details and description is accurate and consistent with source data
- Identify and escalate duplicate listings, data quality issues or inconsistencies for correction
- Follow established workflows and checklists to ensure consistent, high-quality data entry across all categories
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report on progress against listing and profile targets
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Sales, SEO and Content teams, where listing or profile updates require additional input
- Support ad-hoc data projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required
Who are you & what will you bring?
This role suits someone who enjoys accuracy and structure, takes pride in getting the details right, and is keen to build their skills in data and digital marketing.
Required:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Good written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and concise business descriptions
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and web-based content management systems
- Ability to follow set processes and quality guidelines consistently
- Good time management skills, with the ability to meet daily and weekly targets
Nice to have:
- Prior experience in data entry, digital marketing, directory or content administration
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and how listing quality affects search visibility
- Experience with image editing or resizing tools (e.g. Canva, Photoshop)
