Details: The City Renewal Authority (Authority) is charged with shaping the growth of the central parts of Canberra to make it a great place to live, explore and enjoy. In partnership with the community, the Authority aims to create an active city heart through the delivery of design-led, people-focussed urban renewal with a focus on social and environmental sustainability.
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join City Renewal as Director Financial Reporting.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the delivery of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation compliance, financial governance and financial analysis, while supporting the agency's financial management and statutory reporting obligations. Working in a small, high-performing team, you will have exposure to a diverse range of financial responsibilities and play a key role in ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant financial outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance leader looking to broaden their experience across financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, governance and compliance. We are seeking a proactive self-starter with strong technical accounting skills, a high level of accountability, and the ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills

experience preparing and analysing financial information, budgets and forecasts

knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and financial management frameworks

a proactive approach, with a strong sense of accountability, initiative and ownership

experience leading and developing staff

strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.
