Covering parental leave, you'll support the day-to-day finance operations of one of the world's leading performing arts companies: payroll, reconciliations, budget tracking, BAS and PAYG, and strong financial systems across the organisation.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Finance Officer to cover a period of parental leave, supporting the effective day-to-day finance operations of Circa. Working closely with the Head of Finance, this role oversees accounts payable and receivable operations, while being responsible for payroll, reconciliations and budget tracking and supporting strong financial systems and compliance across the organisation.
This is a varied, detail-oriented role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, balancing detail-oriented finance work with supporting colleagues and helping a busy organisation continue to run smoothly during the cover period.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations and Compliance
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including supporting and reviewing the work of the Finance Assistant.
- Responsible for fortnightly payroll processing, payroll journals, superannuation and related reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit PAYG and BAS reconciliations and lodgements.
Financial Reporting and Controls
- Responsible for project and departmental budget tracking and reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue and fixed assets.
- Assist with year-end audit processes.
Systems and Organisational Support
- Identify and implement process and systems improvements within the finance function.
- Support staff across the organisation to follow finance processes and procedures.
- Undertake other duties reasonably directed by the Head of Finance
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in payroll, reconciliations and operational finance functions
- Experience preparing BAS and PAYG reconciliations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage competing priorities
- Experience with NetSuite and Zone Payroll highly regarded

- $90,000-$100,000 p.a. + super
